How our service works in 3 easy steps…
- Just toss the soiled diapers in the odour proof and waterproof diaper bag we provide and place on your doorstep once a week for us to pick up. There is no need to dump or rinse the diapers whatsoever!
- When we pick up, we will leave you a new set of hospital level sanitized diapers in a clean diaper bag.
- Remove the diapers and place the diaper bag in your pail ready to collect used diapers for the week.
Moms-to-be that are new to cloth diapering will typically choose our Deluxe Starter Package which provides everything you need to set up your nursery… an odour proof diaper pail with charcoal filter + 2 diaper covers of your choice + 1 Aleva Naturals Diaper Cream + your first week supply of cloth diapers. We will deliver the starter package you choose one week before your baby is due. We usually schedule the service to begin the week after your baby arrives although you can begin the service whenever you like… just send us a quick email. If you are signing up after your baby has been born, we can start your service the following week.

The difference between cloth and disposable diapers is that in cloth, your baby will feel when they are wet whereas the chemicals in disposable diapers mask the feeling of being wet and your baby will not know they are sitting in a dirty diaper. There are two benefits to the cloth option. The first is your baby will let you know when they need to be changed which greatly reduces the incidence of diaper rash. The second is early toilet training- since your baby will feel when they are wet it incents them to use the potty. The average baby in cloth is toilet trained by 2 years of age whereas in disposables it is between 3 and 3.5 years. This represents significant cost savings as well as a year of not having to change diapers!

Wonderwear laundering process
Our facilities have large, energy efficient, computer controlled industrial washers/extractors. This equipment has very high extraction speeds which reduces our energy consumption in the drying process. Our laundry system utilizes a computerized detergent supply system that is optimized to deliver the correct amount of detergent to each cycle in the cleaning process.
There are five key factors involved in the cleaning of our diapers. The first is a separation process where all the dirty stuff is lifted from the cloth. This process follows with the diapers having several flushes that eliminate any soil away from the diapers. Immediately following this step, the phosphate free, CFIA approved detergents are injected into the extremely hot water washes. These high temperatures cannot be achieved with home washing machines. Any service that does not use extremely hot water for this step jeopardizes the chances of bacteria remaining in the diapers.
During the main washing cycles there are four key elements that come into play. The detergents (which remove the soils and keep them from re-depositing onto the diapers), timing (allowing enough time for the detergents to do their job), temperature (assuring the water is hot enough to assure all bacteria is removed from the diapers) and the mechanical action (which assists with removing the soil from the diaper material). To sanitize our diapers, we use a very high water temperature in combination with hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is considered the world’s safest all natural effective sanitizer.
There are multiple rinse steps and high speed extracts to assure all detergents are eliminated from the diapers. All detergents used are environmentally friendly and safe for your baby’s skin. We test the PH level the diapers at the end of the cycle to assure the PH balance matches that of baby’s skin. There is no chlorine or bleach used in our washing process at any time.
When the diapers are dried each diaper is inspected to assure the washing process has 100% passed our strict protocol. Utilizing a diaper service instead of washing your diapers at home uses four times less water and power.
